A Love Denied by the Stars
My throat tightened, and even breathing felt like a struggle.
My eyes blurred with tears, every word choking me like a silent dagger.
That stone- the very god she worshipped- had become the biggest torment in my mind.
If he truly exists, how merciless must he be, to snatch my Sarika away from me?
"Fool..." Her voice broke like the last fragile beat of a dying heart.
"He's fulfilling my prayer. I always begged God to let me die before you-
To die as a bride, not a widow.
Because I never wanted to wear that white saree."
Her words faltered as tears spilled freely down her cheeks.
"He just called me a little early."
Her sobs, her broken breaths - tore through every corner of my soul.
She, too, wanted to live with me - to laugh, to cry, to fight, to make up...
But life had left all of that unfinished for us.
A love-
That remained incomplete, even after it was complete.
