! TRIGGER WARNING !
I hit my head repeatedly on the cold bathroom door, away from them all. Away from the responsibilities and consequences, away from the people who call me insane. Maybe I was insane. Insane to leave my younger sister alone at a party, insane to yell at my own mother as she drove. And despite how many times I prayed to god that this was all a dream, I always woke up in the morning, alone. It was all my fault, and I couldn't change that. My vision blurred as the salty tears swelled in my eyes, the blade hovering over my wrist. The depression running through my veins as I thought of all the things I've said to them, especially what I said to my mother. I never wanted her to die, I never hated her! Yet the shock on her face at the moment was replaced with fear as the truck hit us, it all happened in a flash. Twenty fucking seconds, and my mother was gone. My mind was a Broken disc, repeating the scenes of that night Every. Single. Fucking. Minute. Warm liquid oozed from my head and ran down the door, leaving a red trail of blood that dripped to the cold floor.
"I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry..." I cried, hoping that they could hear me from the heavens.
"Alex! Open this fucking door, god damn it!" Joseph yelled, pounding on the steel door.
"I miss you, I'm going to see you soon, I'm sorry...I'm sorry that I couldn't live on October...I miss you..."
"Alex!" He wailed.
I brought the blade down, connecting it with my soft skin. Blood dripped from my wrist to the floor leaving a small puddle. I continued this action over and over, feeling dizzy I dropped the razor blade.
"See you soon."

*****
After a summer spent in the Philippines, Lara Dela Cruz is eager to start her senior year and, most importantly, reunite with her three besties. But what she did not expect was to show up on the first day of school to all three of her friends now in relationships. Fighting for their attention, catching some new and confusing feelings for long-time frenemy James, and wading through the pressures of post-high-school plans all have Lara reeling. And to make matters worse, Lara's beautiful and untrustworthy cousin conveniently appears and wiggles her way right between her and James' budding relationship. Feeling like a third wheel in more ways than one, Lara must learn to accept that change is inevitable, love is complicated, and being the odd one out is sometimes where inner power is found.
