I look out the window to see Jax standing outside in his leather bomber jacket and beat up old jeep, some how even with all the snow it looks muddy. The thought makes me want to laugh as I quickly put on my boots and step outside again. The temperature must have dropped because I have to hug my sweater close to my body for warmth

" what are you doing here?" I say over the crunching of the snow beneath me

" I'm here to pick up the pieces." He states

"Don't you see Jax, you can't pick up the pieces you created!"

"What do you want me to say char? I'm sorry okay!" He tosses his hands up before setting them on top of his head running his fingers through his hair "God why do you have to make this so difficult." He mumbles

" no it's not okay, that seems to have become your catch phrase "I'm sorry." Do you even feel anything when you say it, or is it just an automatic response now?"
He seems shocked by my sudden outburst. " that's what I thought." I turn on my heels and run into the house not looking back. Jax has hurt me one to many times and I had more important things to worry about. This summer was a chance to be a kid. September startedand so did reality . he went to work and I went to Harvard there was no chance that this would ever have worked. I mean what would my parents do if they knew the extent of all this.
