Rings

Prologue-
He was in love with her. She loved him. One day he proposed to her with a special ring that allows them to feel their lover's heartbeat. It was a ring with gold encrusted hearts. For a base it was a dark nickel color. One day before the wedding he died in a car crash because some old drunk nut was driving. He died with a failing heart and a brain that couldn't work right. After his death she couldn't bare taking the ring off, but she never wore in on her ring finger. She wore the special ring on her pinky, because that's what he always did because the ring he had was too small for his ring finger. One day on her way to work. It was a nice fall morning. It wasn't that cold. She could see some bird flying away. She decided to take a longer route to her job and when she was only a block away she felt his heart beating again.
