Til' You Kissed Me
"Dear Crush, I exist... and trust me or not, but no one else in this whole world can love you the way I do..." He fell in love for the first time in his life. Even after being the most popular guy at school, he was afraid to talk to her, not because she was more popular than him, but because she was different, very different from other girls out there. She was in love with him, since elementary school. Just a single glimpse of him was enough to make her day. But she was afraid to tell him, obviously, he was way too popular and better for a girl like her. But, even though he was popular, he was... different. His politeness was the thing that attracted her... the most. Then one day, their love was sealed by a kiss! Will they ever be able to tell each other and realize, that... Love. Love is such a strong word. Love is something you feel for someone you truly care about. Right? So is love ever possible to feel for someone that you hated so much for so long? Mikayla is a junior at Bristol High School in Bristol, Tennesee. She's sixteen, 5'4, plays softball and volleyball, and has a great and positive personality. However, her family has a lot of issues. Her dad is a depressed alcoholic who likes to take his anger out on Mikayla and her twin brother, Joey. Mikayla thinks sex and relationships are stupid. It's high school. She wants to lay back and be mature. However, will that ever change? I mean, high school is always rough and deceiving, right? Mikayla is an excellent student and makes amazing grades. However, she has competition. Daniel is Mikayla's competition. He plays quarterback on their school's football team. Typical, right? Well, Mikayla and Daniel have competed against each other for years. Daniel likes to push Mikayla down and make her feel like he's superior and better. Daniel is six-foot-something and handsome. He could pull any girl he wanted, however, he remains single. Is it his terrible personality? Or does he like being single? This story is about teenage love and the problems that you can encounter in high school. Mikayla and Daniel, head to-head, all the time. However, who will win overall? Who will be the bigger person and try to drop all of their immaturity and stupidity? The passenger window rolls down, and I spot the most unexpected person seated behind the wheel. "Get in" comes out his voice, and I must've stood there agape for a few moments because next comes his rhetorical question. "Are you getting in or continuing walking in the rain?" Eyebrows raised expectantly.
