Allison Lunt is just a normal girl; she goes to college, she has two older brothers and two loving parents. But all of that changes when the world is plagued by Captain Trips, and everyone Allison knows and loves succumbs to the flu. But there is one other person in the town who hasn't died; a 22-year-old deaf-mute by the name of Nick Andros. The two travel across multiple states and find others who have also survived, and the two end up playing crucial roles in the new community in this post plague world.
NOTE: This is an AU, because Nick does not die like he does in the original book.
