Wings of Fire: Eye of an Animus

Silverdream, the "half-animus" from the NightWing tribe, was pretty familiar with the Ice Kingdom, considering her mother was--or used to be--half IceWing. That's where she grew up for seven years, but most of that time was spent on her own; even without her hybrid brother, who mysteriously disappeared while hunting in the woods when she was three years old.

Things started to go perfectly right when she met her first real friend, but that turned out to be the year she finally left the Ice Kingdom and began finding clues about her family, such as the fact that her supposedly-diseased mother may've actually still been alive--in a way--and that her father was up to no good.

That's when she decided to come out of hiding completely to find her family and gain back what magic originally belonged to her.

(Set in a time and place in Pyrrhia where Ruby is queen of the SkyWings, but Queen Glacier of the IceWings is still alive. You know, somewhere between books nine and ten, but--aside from the queens and maybe some others--with pretty much completely new characters.)
