We sat silently in his room, just doing homework. He seemed kinda distracted. I'm not sure by what but something was definitely on his mind.
"You alright, Pone?"
"Hm?" He shifted his eyes to me. His brows were furrowed until he looked at me. His face softened. "Oh, yeah. I'm good."
"Really?" I asked. "Cause you've been starin' at the same paragraph for the pass five minutes and I know you ain't a slow reader."
He let out a soft sigh. Something was wrong. I got up from the desk to sit with him on the bed. I sat criss-crossed in front of him and reached for his textbook. He let me take it as I put it to the side. I waited for him to say something.
"It's just- we kiss and shit, a lot. I have feelin's for you and I know you have them too." He looked away. "I know you'd rather bottle up ya feelings but I can't do that."
"Pony-"
"Midge, what are we?"
I felt a jab in my stomach. I didn't exactly know how to answer him.
"I don' know, Pone."
