The clichè Princess story, is either, she is sold to the highest bidder, or she is kidnapped and in need of rescuing. This is not a clichè In the far away land of Ascardia there were three main kingdoms. Each with their own strength, and in turn, their own weaknesses. For over fifteen years Nightingale was known to many as the Heirless Kingdom, a sign that the kingdom would be easy to overthrow. Cantenburg, the closest neighboring kingdom to Nightingale, was known as the Small Kingdom, which was neither weakness or strength. For who would want to take over such a small kingdom? The last, but certainly the most vile, was the Kingless Kingdom of Ash, ruled by tyranical Dukes and Duchesses. Ascardia was a magical place filled with dangerous and wonderous creatures. Filled with lies, deception, brutality, and murder. When Princess Onyx-Rose of Nightingale was born, the Heirless Kingdom became, The Kindest Kingdom. She was more beautiful than any flower, and more deadly than any Poison Thorne, or the Black Rose. She isn't the average princess. Edmond Ashbury was an evil man. He wanted nothing more than to rule all of Ascardia, to be more than a mere Duke. He wanted a throne and to get it, he needed Onyx. Enoch Ashbury was once the future Duke of Ash. But at the tender age of 5, he was framed for the murders of his parents. Now a Mercenary, banished to The Forbidden Forest, he is asked by his sister to find, and protect the Warrior Princess of Nightingale. In hopes of having a chance to rid Ascardia and himself of his brother, Enoch accepts.

*THIS NOVEL IS A SEQUEL TO WILD CARD & CANNOT BE READ AS A STANDALONE* There is a legend that one in four royal advisor-mages will betray their monarch, overthrow them for power. *** Gwenore, the new Queen of Acewood, is on a throne most would kill for. Especially her mermaid half-sister, a power-hungry mage on the loose, and a rogue knave with royal blood on his hands. Her sisters and Aces advise her to be patient, but she wants to stop the threats to her kingdom before they worsen. And before she's forced to marry some high-bred noble who's only interested in her for her position. But Gwenore is surrounded by fickle foes and spies she can't identify, and will soon see that her impatience has brought her to waters too deep to swim in. Those who wish for her demise are close, too close... and those she trusts are far and few between. Can Gwenore survive the menaces to her person and restore balance to her home before it's too late?
