Some men were born to rule while others fought hard for it but none of them....were her.

Verissa Narcussia was not a commoner, nor was she born of noble blood she was chosen.
She lived on the island of Velaris, unknown to the world around her. Among her people she was known as their Regina or queen. Verissa was chosen by them during the dark times when foreign invaders looted and enslaved their fellow men. She was strong and vigilant in protecting her home and vowed to never let strange men soil her small kingdom again.

But a dark power was brewing in the lands that lay East and suddenly Verissa is forced to move everyone to the East. A country she vowed to protect her people from no matter the cost.

Can she stay alive long enough to fight this evil and protect her love ones? Will this new land be their salvation or undoing? Will enemy's become friends and who will save Verissa even if it has to be from herself? -----------------------------------------------------

Silence.

That was all she could hear that and the dripping of the rain on her skin as they stared deep into each others eyes.

" I should kill you where you stand Bastard King" Although knowing if they came to blows he would strike her down with ease due to her current state.
Smirking calmly down at the little queen he waited for her to make her move.

To make a mistake that would cost her and render him the advantage

She was tired sweaty and close to passing out but the need to fight outweighed it all. With grace only a queen could muster Verissa pushed forward and struck with her sword knowing it would be her only chance to kill the human beast before her. Her only chance to stop the evil she presumed he was even if it meant killing the man she thought she cared for maybe even loved.

And he waited and watched anticipating all that would happen knowing that soon even with the current predicament she would finally be his.
