From the outside Laken Porter's life looks perfect, although she had lost her mother very young she was her father's pride and joy.

Or so it seems.

Her father is a wealthy man, mayor of their small town outside of Seattle and a hero in the public eye.

If only they knew what went on behind closed doors, if they only knew how many hours of therapy, how many layers of makeup it took to uphold the facade.

Harry Styles' life is not so easy, after loosing both of his parents at a young age he was put into an orphanage in Boise Idaho. He and two of his fellow orphans are assigned to a group home at the age of twelve.

He finally had a family again, his foster mother is kind and caring. She has of son of her own Harry's age as well as an adopted daughter.

But Harry never fit into school life, he would rather work and help his foster mother with the bills. She grew concerned so she decided to take him to a therapist who suggested an online support group with people his age, people that have dealt with loss and depression.

This is where Laken meets Harry, online at least. They strike up a friendship over the understanding of losing a parent, of feeling alone. With each other by their side they get through the struggles of high school.

But what will Harry do when years later he finds out something horrible happened to Laken?
