Then again, good things never last forever when a boy is snatched and then dragged into the woods during recess at Hartwood Elementary School. Detective Hal Locke, known by the town to be a complicated alcoholic, must discover the kidnapper and unravel the twisted mystery while discovering more about himself along the way -- but sadly, not everybody can have a happy ending.
