"Here, in the woods, dark and deep, I offer you eternal sleep." : The peaceful town of Hartwood has never experienced much tragedy. The town is relatively silent to the world yet not among themselves as everybody knows each other and neighbors become more like family as time passes by. Then again, good things never last forever when a boy is snatched and then dragged into the woods during recess at Hartwood Elementary School. Detective Hal Locke, known by the town to be a complicated alcoholic, must discover the kidnapper and unravel the twisted mystery while discovering more about himself along the way -- but sadly, not everybody can have a happy ending.
