I had a good job and a beautiful girlfriend. It seemed as if everything was perfect. But everyone has a skeleton in their closet, and I was no exception. When I was sixteen, my younger brother murdered someone in cold blood, and then he disappeared. I never wanted to see him again. Then one night he came out of the shadows, and my nightmares became real. In the underground world of fairies and magic, there lurks monsters. My brother is one of those monsters, and everyone in the Half-World calls him the Mad Hatter. He made me what I am, and all I want to do is escape.

Of course for everyone else, it was much more than a few years, it was three hundred to be precise. Once the Crawlers wiped themselves out all that long ago, we thought it was over, that Humans would regain control of the planet and things would soon go back to normal. We were wrong. After another man tried to wipe out the human race, it was made apparent that even the original Crawlers may not have died out. They're more illusive than their ancestors, it is unclear whether this entails their danger or not.
