Almost midway through the 16th century, France and England are crosshairs away from warfare. Malevolence is thick in the air between the two countries and both of the reigning kingdoms are desperate to avoid violence and keep the peace. A marriage between the two children, who are both next in line for the throne, is the final endeavor...a strained arrangement that both families hope will be a means to an end. Prince Leopold of England is stoic. He is kind, but he's a born leader. Princess Marie of France is a trying young woman. She is rebellious against her parents, but she's also born to reign. She is magnificent and loved by many. The two young royals are nothing alike, and the Princess realizes this, even before meeting England's promising future king. Upon her arrival, however, she's introduced to Prince Harry. Leopold's younger brother is stubborn, obnoxiously handsome, and more like Marie than anyone else could possibly be. She's betrothed to one man, but she falls for another. The fate of the two great countries depends on Leopold and Marie's wedding, so regardless of feelings elsewhere, the two are promised to one another and not even the strongest love can break that affiance. || Book #2 of the Harry and Paige series ||

Each is given a dowry, and the expectation that they are to marry a French settler, in order to increase the population of New France. She comes from a wealthy Parisian family that has squandered their money and is subsequently forced to journey to New France. However, Celeste doesn't plan on marrying a complete stranger. She hopes to use the dowry and the free voyage as a way to escape the poverty and social ranks of Paris. Matters are complicated when against her will, she falls in love. Romantic, kind and stunningly beautiful Lorraine Leblanc is a girl from a large family with children to spare. When she marries a mysterious widower with two young children of his own and still reeling after his broken heart, she realizes that married life isn't all she had hoped it would be, and begins to question her new husband's complicated past. - Wattpad Picks Blast to the Future Past list 2018 - The 50 Best Wattpad Stories of 2018/19 by Design Wizard - 2018 Youngblood Awards Winner (Romance) - 2018 True North Awards 2nd place for Historical Fiction and 2nd place Truly Canadian special category award - Featured by Wattpad Historical Fiction profile under Kings, Courtships and Empires, Young Adult Fiction profile under Love, Actually and Romance profile under Time will Tell *Please be aware that since this book covers the colonial period, it does contain sensitive themes of racism and violence that readers will find disturbing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Of all the beautiful porcelain dolls in this world, why pick an broken rag doll like me?", I ask as he squeezes my hand and glances at my lips. To my surprise, he simply answers with a grin as if it were clear as glass, "Broken things have beautiful stories. Why not you?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the Victorian era of England, Dahlia Josephine was always an outcast since the day she was born - being born with black hair and hazel eyes in a wealthy and fabulous family of blondes and blue eyes - and she always believed she would never earn the same privileges her sisters got easily. It got worse when an event that her five older sisters orchestrated created both a physical and emotional scar that would remind her of her social standing in this life. When her mother is lucky to work for Queen Stephanie and her three sons in her castle of Palaye Royale, the sisters go crazy for the middle child of the Queen, Prince Remington. But Remington has his eyes (and heart) set on the unique and gentle-natured daughter who he recognizes from a past memory. As he gets to know her better, he'll learn how scared she is of her family, and of herself. *started on 8/30/2019* {New cover created by the talented @infamousbat}
