I suppose a lot of teenage girls feel invisible sometimes, like they could be on a stage surrounded by flashing neon lights and still nobody would glance their way. I could say I feel the same way; however I am in fact invisible. Invisible to humans at least. Well most of the time anyway

THROUGH THE CRACKS
Behind the perfectly ironed shirts and calm sarcasm is a heart that never healed. A boy who watched his mother die. A son left behind by a father who built a new life in a new country without looking back. A man who learned how to stay strong by staying alone. He became the man everyone leans on but no one truly knows. The one who cracks a joke in the middle of a storm just to make others feel less broken even when he's the one drowning. But what happens when someone walks into his life ,not loud, not demanding , just... seeing him? Someone who doesn't just notice the cracks. Someone who looks through them and stays. Until someone walks into his life who doesn't fear his silence. Someone who reads between his pauses and sits with his shadows instead of chasing them away. She doesn't try to fix him. She just sees him in the places where he cracked and never told anyone he bled. She doesn't ask him to open up. She just stays open. And suddenly, the silence he once found comfort in feels too loud. And for the first time, He begins to wonder: What if being understood is more terrifying than being alone?

Like a bolt of lightning, this stupid boy appeared in my life. First day of summer break between first and second grade, he just appeared- standing on my porch like he was born there. Straight brown hair, wide dark eyes and a fresh sunburn across his cheeks. He was already talking before I even opened the door. I don't know how it happened but it's been ten years. And he's still here. Talking, whether or not I'm listening. Laughing, even if no one else is. He's still too quick- racing around the world like he's scared he's going to miss it. He's gotten taller...much taller. His hair is a little longer, a little wavier, but under the light it still looks the same golden brown it did when we were nine. And now, finally, he was a high school graduate. We both were. Like a bolt of lightning he appeared and like the sun he refused to disappear. _____________________________________________ I fell asleep with my chin pointed at him, the outline of his face being the last thing I saw. How was I supposed to do this? It had always been difficult, hiding this secret, keeping him close. But now, my focus was starting to slip. I couldn't see anything but his lips, his hands, his smile. I couldn't hear anything but my name in his mouth, his jagged breaths and that loud laugh. How am I supposed to be okay with this?
