Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz is the fourth book set in the Land of Oz written by L. Frank Baum and illustrated by John R. Neill. It was published on June 18, 1908 and reunites Dorothy with the humbug Wizard from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (1900).
This is one of only two of the original fourteen Oz books (the other being The Emerald City of Oz (1910), to be illustrated with watercolor paintings.

Prepare to embark on an exhilarating and daring escapade through the mystical realm of Oz, in this thrilling sequel to my previous adaptation of the enchanting book by L. Frank Baum, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. In The Marvelous Ozma of Oz, the fearless Dorothy Gale sets foot once more in the captivating Land of Oz, only to discover a realm in disarray, far from the way she remembered it. No longer is the King Scarecrow seated upon the throne, for it has been usurped by the malevolent Queen Roquat and the cunning Princess Mombi. These devious rulers not only hold the land captive but also conceal the true heiress to the throne of Oz, the rightful Princess Ozma. Stand alongside Dorothy as she forges alliances with both familiar faces and newfound companions, embarking on a quest to liberate Ozma and the entire land of Oz from the clutches of these tyrannical monarchs. Brace yourself for an odyssey filled with peril and valor, where courage and friendship shall be tested in the face of overwhelming adversity. *** Loosely based on the second and third books in the Oz series by L. Frank Baum, "The Marvelous Land of Oz" (1904) and "Ozma of Oz" (1907), I have once again used some characters from the 1985 film "Return to Oz" in my illustrations. This choice made once again because of the appearance of the main characters in that film more resembling the ones used in the original Oz book illustrations crafted by W.W. Denslow and John R. Neill, than other Oz films. In this adaption, I have also merged the characters of Mombi from "The Marvelous Land of Oz" with Princess Langwidere from "Ozma of Oz," echoing the creative fusion of that character seen in the 1985 film. The character of the Nome King from Ozma of Oz has been infused with General Jinjur from the Marvelous Land of Oz, and reimagined as the Queen Roquat. Princess Mombi also takes some of Jinjur's traits. Many other changes to characters and events from the books can be seen throughout my adaption as well.

(Y/N) (L/N) is your everyday country girl who lives in Kansas. There, she's made friends with Dorothy Gale. Despite (Y/N) being a few years older than Dorothy, they become great friends and have been for a long time. But when a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy, (Y/N), and Dorothy's dog, Toto, are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz. They follow the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, and en route, they meet a Scarecrow that needs a brain, a Tin Man missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who wants courage. The wizard asks the group to bring him the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West to earn his help. But their adventure won't end there. Soon after their return to Kansas, Dorothy and (Y/N) find themselves whisked back to Oz to save her friends and Glinda from the Jester - the younger brother of the Wicked Witch of the West. The Jester is using his late sister's broomstick as a magic wand and is destroying Oz one yellow brick at a time. With new companions, the two girls set out to rescue old friends and restore order. But during this new adventure, (Y/N) would hear the constant talk of Scarecrow's love for her when she's only known him a day in her world. Will she accept his feelings or return to Kansas? DISCLAIMER! I don't own you, The Wizard of Oz, Legends of Oz: Dorothy's return, Scarecrow, the characters, songs, pictures, videos, etc. I haven't seen a lot of these books and I wanted to write one. Well, I've wanted to write it for a while but never really thought about it until now. I hope this goes alright and everyone likes my take on the two films. Enjoy the book
