Cassia has spent her life learning how to survive in a world built for people who can see. On the Lisang continent, power is common-and dangerous. Heroes rise, villains fall, and the line between them is thinner than anyone wants to admit. Power doesn't make you a hero-it only gives you the chance to choose what kind of person you'll become. Cassia has never lacked power. What she's lacked is control. After five years of pulling away from the world-and from herself-Cassia is forced to start over when her twin brother Jordan's promotion uproots them to a new city. A city where superpowered conflict isn't distant-it's constant. Staying on the sidelines is no longer an option. As Cassia is drawn deeper into the chaos and the lines begin to blur. The hero isn't always right. The villain isn't always wrong. Because this world isn't divided into just heroes and villains. And to survive it, Cassia will have to do more than rely on her strength- she'll have to learn how to truly see the world for what it is... and decide who she's going to be within it.
