A prince is cursed by a witch; turned into a dragon. Simple as that. Unfortunately, his desires don't exactly match up with that of his parents and fiancee, so he decides to be his own dragon? prince? and goes off on his own.

I wrote this because I didn't have internet for three weeks, and I haven't proofread it or anything; this is a direct copy/paste from the original draft I wrote.All Rights Reserved

I wiped my forehead, sweat, and probably blood dripping down my arm and side of head as I reached for a nearby rock, trying to push on it, hoping that it might help me out of this disaster. "Mom? Betty?" I called, hoping for a response, only to get none. I didn't even get the slightest whimper from any of them. What the heck happened? "Mom?! Betty?!" I screamed this time, trying to push myself up onto my back, my leg killing me so much that I had to give up. I laid back down on the ground, placing my hand on the bottom of the table; anger, fear, confusion getting the best of me. I screamed as I banged my fists on the wood table. "MOM? BETTY?" Nothing. I was ready to bang on the wood again, but I flinched back when I heard the sound of moving rubble. Whoever it is was almost near where I was, and ... moving quickly. So, there's no possible way that it was a human. It would take hundreds do men to lift these boulders, but whoever this person is, is stronger than anyone I would kn- My thoughts froze as I watched something large wrap around the edges of the table, lifting it up; my eyes widening as I came face to face with the largest creature known to mankind. A giant. (This is my book from my own brain. These are my own characters based off my family members. Please do not steal it.)

When writing I kept the theme from D&D world of "letting the characters choose wrong/useless paths to explore" as an unnecessary rule imposed on myself, which took more effort than I expected due to sidetracks, but I still enjoy the story that resulted. Soren wishes to become a true Dragon Rider and attend the Kingdoms Dragon Rider Academy. Soren exceeds expectations in magic and swordplay, but has never been able to bond with a dragon egg. At age, 12 Roy wanders into the woods behind his families estate to discover a dying mother dragon holding her egg. The egg glows in Soren presence, showing that the dragons hatchling within the egg has chosen him. The mother dragon entrusts her egg to Soren, but warns him that a human bonding with a wild dragon egg is rare will bring watchful eyes upon him. Three years later, at age 15, Soren is accepted into the Zestria Dragon Rider Academy. He quickly makes himself known and word begins to spread of his abilities. When word reaches beyond the Kingdom, darker forces begin to set their eyes on Soren and they will stop at nothing to have him join them.
