“A hero is man who is afraid to run away.” It is a very ancient saying, spoken by someone who is, I have no doubt, far wiser and greater than I could ever hope to be. For I am not, and never have been, a hero. I have been a messenger, a servant, and a warrior… but not a hero.
I have always envied those who were.
I hear that Lord Verga, the ruler of Malaya, is a hero. I have never had the honor of meeting him although I would much like to. In my younger years I always figured there would be time enough in the future.
Now the end of my future looms over me, and I am filled with nothing but regrets..

Can anyone really define what a hero is? Can anyone really completely understand what makes a hero? These are questions a lot of people ask themselves, many make guesses as to what a hero is... Or what they're supposed to be... To me a hero is someone who ran head first into danger without thinking twice, putting other people before themselves. Y/n l/n never believed he was a hero, even though he's shown every quality needed to say he was a hero... His parents are abusive, physically and mentally... They torture him and experiment on y/n, and whenever those experiments failed they left him chained to the wall... But even after being physically and mentally exhausted and physically hurt, he still shows up to save the day... Injuring himself more in the process... Only when he transfers to a new school and finds friends whom he can trust, does he learn to believe in himself more... Just a question, what is something that makes a person, a hero? That question is something that has become so distorted in the World of Remnant that no one knows what the real answer is, all they know is that Huntsman and Huntresses are the real heroes.
