Oh, hello there. My name's Yurio, I'm 16, male, and I'm from Russia, but living in Japan. But I wasn't always this way. You see.. I was born female. I still sound girlish, even with hormones, but I guess that's okay. I'm a world class figure skater, and I compete in the male singles, just like any other guy my age. Just because I'm transgender, doesn't mean that I'm different from any other guy. I do things like a guy would. I'm not afraid of who I am and who I want to become, and I want to inspire other people like me to do the same. I did have to move to Japan to become who I am, but that never stopped me on my journey. I may not have undergone reassignment surgery yet, but one day, I hope I will get the chance to. I also plan to start a shelter here in Tokyo after I finish my skating years for LGBT youth. Thanks for reading my bio! :))
I sighed. Writing my Tumblr bio had taken me a while, but I finally finished and I'm glad its over with. I shut off my computer and headed into the kitchen, only to see my caretakers, Haru and Yuno, deep in conversation.
Yuno glanced up and immediately stop talking when she saw me. "Yuri~Chan.." I felt anger build up inside of me as she used female pronouns.
I've lived with her for 3 years, and she always called me Yuri~Kun.. What was different this time?
"We need to talk.. Come sit." I walked over and sat down in a chair, my heart racing.
"With everything that's going on with you.." Yuno hesitated, but took a breath and continued. "We can't support you any more. We don't get government funding anymore since your 16 and don't have a disability." My heart stopped for a second as I realized what she was saying.
"You have to go back to Russia."
