After winter break, the girls at the very prestigious Longbourn Academy become obsessed with the prom. Lizzie Bennet who attends Longbourn on a scholarship, isn't interested in designer dresses and expensive shoes, but he best friend Jane might be --- especially now that Charles Bingley is back from a semester from London.
Lizzie is happy about her friend's burgeoning romance but less than impressed by Charles's friend Will Darcy, who's snobby and pretentious. Darcy doesn't seem to like Lizzie either, but she assumes it's because her family doesn't have any money. Clearly Will Darcy is a pompous jerk --- so why does Lizzie find herself drawn to him anyway?
Will Lizzie's pride and Will's prejudice keep them apart? Or are they a prom couple in the making?

Her sister gets a new boyfriend in the form of Charles Bingley, while Elizabeth gets a new enemy in the form of Charles' best friend, Darcy. Pompous car company CEO Darcy and Elizabeth seem like natural born enemies, but with a series of run-ins and misunderstandings, it seems as if the two of them are a little more similar than they'd like to admit. 🌱🌿🌱 Matters of Chance is a retelling of Jane Austen's classic romance Pride and Prejudice. It takes place on the American west coast. It features an Asian-American Bennet family living in a small city outside of Seattle. It has very similar plot points to the original, but adapted to a modern setting. However, I don't think you need to have read Pride & Prejudice to read this! The characters are written so that you can do without it.
