You Make Me

"Are you ashamed of me?" I cried. My stomach twisted. I felt vulnerable and tiny.

"No"

I raised my head to look into those eyes, blue with flecks of gold, and heard a sharp intake of breath.

"I'm ashamed of myself for being with you."
