When skin and bone are stolen, darkness uses wings of flesh and lead.

                                                                                         ********

Beneath the vibrant city of Mallinasport, awash in the pollution is Imus, a community as bleak as the futures of those who live there.
With little food or water, it's all Aeris can do to make it day by day and keep the shop her father left her running. When the fabled circus returns, it brings a small reprieve from daily life.

Or so it seems until Aeris is delivered a mysterious warning and a boy falls from the sky. Darkness haunts the night, taking people with it. Aeris finds herself captive in a twisted and barbaric ploy for power, in a world forgotten beneath the city.

Enlisting the help of a fellow captive, they must plan their escape before Aeris is sent to the arena, or killed.

The boy from the sky holds the key to saving her.

Salvage ~ V1: Nuts and Bolts (Steampunk/ Gaslamp Romantasy ~ FxM, MxM) by avaseofpeonies
47 parts Complete Mature
A Steampunk/ Gaslamp Fantasy Romance set in the industrial revolution era of a fictional world. Magic, mad science, multicultural ambiance, and political intrigue all tightly laced up into one corset and powered by the steam of two romances - one F/M and one M/M. For mature audiences, 18+. ~~~*~~~ All creations carry a trace of the maker's ethereal energy, whether deliberately placed in the magical Artifacts made by the Alchemists, or unwittingly left in the handiwork of ordinary people. Kazia can feel that energy, in both machines and people. She may not be able to do any of the grand magic other Alchemists can, but give her a damaged machine and she can trace its energy to the problem, and know precisely how to repair it. She does have one other ability. One far more dangerous. One she will never acknowledge, and will never use. Fleeing her villainous father rather than becoming his pawn, Kazia finds a peaceful life on a farm in a neighboring country, where no one knows that she is the daughter of Prince Gorvan Devratha. But with war looming between her birth country of Valesk and her new home in Caedra, how long can that peaceful life last? She can be safe in the Caedran capital, among the Queen's Alchemists, but will anyone there trust her - especially the handsome but embittered Lord Kelvaran Meratha, who suspects Kazia's father of murdering his family? Abrizhen is Kazia's older brother. He does his best to play the role of the Prince's good son and heir, but when tasked with retrieving his wayward sister, he must return to the city he'd called home for many of his youthful years. There he'll have to reckon with his past, and finally choose between the life of a dutiful prince, or the welfare of his sister - and the rekindling of an old flame. ~~~*~~~ Please see the introduction for detailed content warnings.

Deep within the heart of FernGully, a vibrant rainforest in Australia, lives F/N, a spirited and curious fairy. The dense canopy of the forest shields his world, a haven of untouched beauty, where humans are spoken of only as distant myths, extinct creatures of a bygone era. But F/N's understanding of the world shatters when the hum of machinery echoes through the trees-evidence of a logging company encroaching upon the forest's edge. In a fateful encounter, F/N's magic unintentionally shrinks one of the loggers, a boy named Zak, to fairy size. Now no bigger than the insects around him, Zak sees the rainforest through F/N's eyes: a living, breathing ecosystem threatened by human greed. This startling perspective forces Zak to confront the destruction caused by his own kind. As the pair form an unlikely alliance, their task becomes even graver. The logging operation has awakened Hexxus, a dark and malevolent entity born from pollution. Hexxus thrives on the very destruction the machines bring, growing stronger with each poisoned breath of the forest. Together, F/N and Zak must rally the forest's creatures, navigate perils both natural and magical, and confront Hexxus before the rainforest-and its magic-are lost forever.
