Anela Fuller has always been a little different and a little weird. Knowing the truth isn't the same as gaining comfort from that knowledge, especially when that knowledge conflicts with her human upbringing. As she struggles to understand her aquatic heritage and master her abilities under the young man's frustrating tutelage, dark forces rise from the ocean depths intent on shaping Anela's future for themselves and obtaining her now-reunited medallion that could give them dominance over the entire world and not just its oceans.
