When mistakes are made, mistakes must be fixed, or so the Olympian Council think. And Hazel Levesque is a mistake in their eyes, a ghost who cannot be allowed to live. A pity, is all that many of the gods condemn it to be. A pity that such a hero has to die after surviving so much and saving so many... but laws are to abided by if they are to keep the peace, and defying death is one of the few that can cause catastrophic upheaval in the realm of the Divine.
However, Hazel has tasted Life too many times to let it slip away from her a second time - whether it was the law or not. So when time comes for her candle to be blown out, she'll be the one holding the match to reignite her fire.

Percy Jackson is not a good person. At least, not anymore. Percy has been through a lot. Annabeth is dead and his few remaining friends are scattered across America. Percy's been loyal and heroic his whole life, he's always done what the gods asked. And they have only ever repaid him with pain and indifference. So now it's his turn. His longing for justice is growing and the more bitter he becomes, the more it sinks in that without Annabeth, he has nothing left to fight for. But then again, there's nothing holding him back.
