Alaya is the princess of one of the final free kingdoms of the world, Twilight. As the only child of the king and one of the last remaining relatives of the king before, she knows she will have to step up and become queen some day. She had always believed that, by then, the war would be over and she could spend the rest of her days with her father in peace. But then her father is murdered, and she is forced to take her place as ruler all too soon. Subjects who once respected her have begun to doubt her strength, and the war grows exceedingly closer. In the middle of it all is her strange magic, something she knows very little about. In a desperate chase for answers she has long sought, Alaya pursues the murderer of her father and the answers to an even bigger question: how is she to end the war? As new foes arise where allies once were, she must choose her friends carefully, and choose her enemies even more carefully.

Melanie Ainsley and Henry Cavill reluctantly get forced into an arranged marriage. It's not what Melanie had hoped for herself at all, to marry a man she didn't even love and the same could be said for Henry who also shared the same displeasure. Though they went ahead with the marriage to please their families whether that would ultimately leave them unhappy or not. This is their story where they learn to become friends, tolerate one another and then perhaps even lovers though it seems unlikely given where Melanie and Henry's hearts reside. Melanie still craves the man she truly does love and keeps herself isolated to even the idea of becoming romantic with Henry, yet she pushes her pride away to try and accept Henry as her husband. Some fun wouldn't hurt anyone though? Not wanting to commit to one another they still live their lives as they would, occasionally indulging in one another's pleasure not knowing the jealousy and tension that would occur with their actions. Will they ever truly accept one another ?
