The night Sarin was born, his father, the Kysar, died and his mother was murdered. The same clan Sarin's grandfather had exiled stole Sarin away and supplanted him with an impostor.

Placed in a prison, he was denied all forms of human contact, leaving him helpless with no knowledge and voiceless with no words. Seventeen years he languished like that until, sent by the kingdom of Vysteri, Arram and his twelve year-old bastard daughter, Mira, free Sarin from his confines.

Together, they must evade capture and escape to  Arram's homeland all while teaching Sarin to speak and control the powers as the Kysarin--prince and sole heir. If they succeed, his ability to command nature and its life will be able to restore his kingdom from its deathly quiet.
