Meredith Winters life gets turned upside down when a horrific accident happens to her family. She's dreamed, lived, and survived the impossible. The highway all looks the same after a while. Even the words on the signs begin to blend together until she can't read them. Not that she cares. The destination doesn't matter. What matters is that she's getting away, escaping before it's too late. If she learned anything from her parents it's that love doesn't last and it's best to leave before getting left. Meredith leaves Seattle two months into her relationship with Derek, fearing that the other shoe is soon going to drop. Upon arriving in LA, she meets Addison at a bar and for the first time in her life she finds herself not wanting to run when the relationship starts becoming serious. AN: Addison and Derek were never married and do not know each other. Mark also doesn't know Derek and is instead Addison's best friend since medical school. Addison and Mark never slept together.
