Katie Mitchel's parents divorced when she was 3. A year later her mom got married to a former MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fighter, Steven.
Steven had to quit MMA when his wife died a few weeks after their baby boy, Logan, was born. He later met a surfer/artist, Lauren who had a 4 year old daughter called Katie.
