Maija Wessels, a high school junior, is confident, clever, and insightful. She hangs out at the beach with her besties, loves S'mores, and has a major crush on Carter Miller.

She's also a witch. 

At least, that's what the Certified Witch Caretakers tell her when they show up with a letter from Applemoor Academy for the Magically Talented.

She's also in the first graduating class after Applemoor opened its doors to all magical beings: unicorns, elves, vampires, and more. 

However, not everything is fluffy bunnies, apple pie, and rainbows. 

There are boys too: the mysterious and brooding JJ who appears after she sees her name in the stars. Then Bobby Gold whose smile could melt any girls' heart. 

As she tries to balance her old life with her supposed newfound abilities (not to mention the homework and spellwork), she can't use her cellphone, her roommate won't talk to her, she gets locked in a classroom, and tension among the magical beings on campus mounts. 

And everyone keeps saying she looks exactly like Imogen Hawkes, the subject of the last great prophecy. Meanwhile, she's just trying to get through the day without turning anyone into a toad.

Even though they all start practicing Wand Magic at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, some of them take a different path through the story. On the other hand, the wizarding comunity and the human race is at risk because of ambitious vampires and warlocks who want to take control of the supernatural and the human world. This leads other evil sources and energies to come their way and endanger not just their lives but the world's. Darkness tries to break their friendship, beloved ones (which somehow are hard to get or maintain), and the world through the story. Will they be able to save themselves, the world and live a happy life? The foundation of this story are the J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter book series, The Vampire Diaries TV series and some facts from the L. J. Smith book series and the Doctor Strange movie.

I didn't want to find out my whole life was a lie. I just wanted a bloody promotion. Guess fate had other plans? **** The cold air fanned over my face as I opened the door. The exit door lead to the back of the building so it was pitch black. I leaned against the wall trying to control myself. Blood was running down my arm and head. My hair was stuck to my face from all the sweat and blood. Everything was spinning around me and the ground seemed like it was shaking. Groaning I sat down and put my head on my knees. He knows who I am. He knows how I look like. He knows where I work so possible knows where I live. I am not safe anymore... no where. While I was in my own world I heard faint sounds behind me but I didn't bother to look or run away. The footsteps got closer and I was pretty sure it was Walker's men. I should run. I should try to fight. But what's the point in trying to run away? He would eventually find me and if he has his way he would most likely kill me. If this is my fate then why am I trying to fight it? I felt someone harshly grab my waist and pull me up and I complied. They dragged me down the alley and into the busy street. I heard the opening of a car and the next thing I knew I was being thrown into a car. My head hit the hard leather seat and the door shut behind me. Maybe this is how my life will end. Maybe I should just let it happen. Maybe I was destined to die alone as a no one. With that I let the darkness consume me.

I'M GOING TO START EDITING THIS PROBABLY. If you go to Our Lady of the Black Veil Academy, chances are you know the names Cass Landry, Rebecca Lovelace, and Mallory Meksawan. Cass Landry being the mysterious new girl with a tendency to practice magic illegally, Rebecca being notorious for lighting up every room she walks into, and Mallory being the second in command it-girl of Black Veil, as famed as she is feared. After a magical attempt to escape detention goes terribly, horribly wrong and their ethics teacher winds up dead (ironic, they know), Cass must band together with Rebecca, the girl she "totally doesn't like", and Mallory, another girl she doesn't like (but like...for real this time) to find a spell that can bring their teacher back to life before her situation becomes permanent. A spell of this caliber, however, requires that they venture into the underground world of their picturesque town, striking a deal with a powerful gang leader that not only raises the stakes, but gives them an even tighter timeline. And though as a witch Cass has personal experience with life and death, the pressure that she's facing now might just be too tough to handle. Luckily, she's not alone. It's no longer funny when a series of gruesome killings occur at Verdugo High, described by local officers as a bloody mark found on the necks of the victims. Strangely, this same pattern had appeared earlier in spring at a San Bernardino High School. Coincidence? Rebecca, Emma's other cousin, thinks not. Rebecca quickly suspects a connection and begins investigating Bobby's past and persona. As Emma befriends him, she struggles to believe that someone like Bobby could be capable of crimes so vicious. Rebecca reminds her that one of the only ways to permanently kill a vampire is with a stake through the heart-in much more poetic terms, heart right through Verdugo.
