Every year on their birthday, the people of Seabrook wake up with a new ring around their arm with a number running along it, showing their new age. It doesn't affect life much, it's just there like the tides or the sunrise.

Just weeks after Willa's fifteenth birthday, she starts getting new rings, even though she hasn't aged. At first she ignores them, but then she starts to get dreams along with the new rings.

These dreams seem like memories, but the events in them haven't yet come to pass. It seems that Willa is having dreams of the future. And the dreams don't just involve her. They also include her best friend.

Feelings develop, tension rises, and relationships are tested as Willa struggles to understand what is causing these strange new events.
