Their mission was simple; take over the Pims lab and find out what they were creating. Nathen thought it was simple enough until KP came along and stopped them. He's holding them captive to Midtown, and he and Tom must find a way out.  When the failing town finally gets a new resident, they see her as their golden ticket, and the sacrifice they'll need.

 Midtown was falling as a place to live, but Carly's parents didn't mind moving there even though she heard the rumors of something going on. She knew something was off but just didn't know what. I see the world through different eyes--literally. Some people would say I have it all. I'm smart, have popular friends and my parents are loaded. One deadly weekend at the family lake house changes all that. When I wake up in a strange facility in the middle of nowhere, I'm told that I'm being held for the public's safety and that I've been given a gift. I can see threads of light around objects that can be manipulated to change ordinary things into new and, sometimes, unworldly contraptions. But to call it a gift? It's actually pretty freaky.
