Have you ever been in a children's home? I have and this is a story from my point of view as a 9yr old girl. Forget the stories of Tracey Beaker this one is true. I was in a children's home not because I was bad and my parents couldn't control me. I wasn't in there because they didn't love me. I wasn't in there because they had abandoned me. I was in there because my mother was sick and needed more help than my father and the doctors upto this point could give she wasn't physically sick she was mentally sick and that makes things a bit harder for all the family. This is a real life story my life. My friends the children that lived there, it's apart of their lives too! so please don't judge us harshly we were just kids. Names have to be changed even if all these children are now grown they all have their own story to tell and they can choose to tell it when they or if they feel they need to. By the way We don't need your sympathy either. Again this is my story and mine alone I hold the copy write to this story. No one has my permission to publish this without my consent. This place was to become not only my home but all the people in it I class as family to this day if one of them needed my help I know without a doubt I would be there for them because you don't go into one of these places and come out exactly the same. I am forever changed due to the family I had in the home and have yet to find a family quite like the one I had there. Family's can be made up of loads of different people you don't need to be blood related to be family. Update, Its now 2023, and my sister and I were having coffee in starbucks I can't remember how we ended up talking about Balgores but we did and my sister stated "They were the best years of my childhood" and she is right! For the first time in years we had gotten to be kids we could muck around have fun and we didn't have to worry about our mother kicking off! being drunk! We could just be children!

(Completed/ BEING REWRITTEN!!!) "Yeah, tell me about it" Hayden voices out as she leans more into Max. I smile at the two, and look over at each of my friends one by one, and for a split second I forget all my problems, and I just remember all the adventures we went through. My smile got bigger, these people are my new family. It was hard to get where I am today but in the end it was worth it if I can stay here with the people I love and never look back. I know its never that simple but why focus on something that could happen and in the process I miss the here and now. I hold up my drink my smile never falling. I know where I belong and that's with them. I belong here with my boyfriend holding me, my friends laughing and smiling. I belong in the now, and I'm ok with that. "Yup Life's A Rollercoaster" Life's a rollercoaster indeed. - (extended summary inside) (Disclaimer: This book is rated mature because of the following mentioning of Abuse, death of family, alcohol, murder, survivors guilt, etc. I will tell if anymore and there will be a warning beforehand, enjoy.)
