Horsekit has a great reputation. Her mother, Cinderstripe, saved the clan from the Twolegs. You'd be respected too, right? Until she became mute and disfigured. An accident involving a fox, kills her brother, and permanently injures her. Stormstar, the leader, doesn't think that she could become a warrior, what she wanted to be when she was old enough. So he appoints her as the medicine cat apprentice AND a warrior apprentice. He says she has to train in both positions. And she has three moons to train in both, and pass both assessments to chose what she wants to be. If she fails one, Stormstar chooses what her future holds. But training in both ranks isn't easy. It takes a toll on the body, mind, and emotions. So Horsepaw looses friends, gains friends, makes sacrifices, and finds out shocking secrets. A fire. Caused by twolegs. And suddenly Nightpaw's entire life as she knows it has changed. The four clans that had ruled the territories for centuries have been wiped out. Now the future for any sort of clan rests in the paws of four apprentices. They will need to find a new territory, a new place to communicate with StarClan and, most importantly, cats to form a clan with. Will they survive? This story is set many moons after the great cats during Firestar's time were around. Also, any arcs after the first arc did not happen.
