Meet Max. She might look like a normal girl on the outside, but actually she's anything but. Her dad, Jeb, used to be a very successful scientist until he started experimenting on Max, her baby sister Ella and other children. In the end Max and her sister were the only ones to survive the experiment to give them wings, and Jeb turned to drugs and smoking. After a years of abusing Max, Ella, and their mother he left and never came back. Now Max, Ella, and their mom live in an a small apartment in New York struggling to get by. Max is a 17 year old high school drop out with wings working 3 jobs to pay the rent and keep them from starving, while her mother is really sick and can't leave the house. Between taking care of 8 year old Ella and her sick mother can Max get by on her own? Or will she need the help of some friendly heroes...
