•The boy, the one from the crowd put his gun at her head. She didn't move as she felt the cold metal on her forhead.
"If you shoot one more time, I'll pull the trigger" he announced.
"You wouldn't shoot her" Xenon replied.
He smirked. "You bet?" he tilted his head whispering to her ear: "Sorry but this might hurt a bit". She felt a keen pain in her leg as the bullet pierced her skin. Blood dripped from it as she fell to the ground.•

Lyra Cinder is cast out from the Fort, the largest remaining training settlement for human mages outside of the Alliance. Without a killer extinct and far too much use of her conscience, she is of no use to the mages who have refused peace with their vampire neighbors. With a band of misfits and Fort rejects, Lyra sets out on a journey to find her place as well as a meaning to all of the fighting around her. It seems like a straight forward path until Lyra comes back from a supply run to find the boys have made sport of kicking around a stray vampire. Though she wishes to release him, the sharpness of his ice eyes cuts right into her soul even shackled and beaten on the ground. This stranger could just be the death of all of them, or perhaps he could be her destiny. When Lyra runs face first into the carnage caused by a notorious masked murder known only as The Fool, she is helpless to stop him from slaughtering the soldiers of the Zero rebellion. Though the Zero started as a vampire-hating group that threw society to the brink of extinction, most now are just humans run from their homes in times of war and desperate for shelter or food and willing to fight for it. The world is brittle and broken, and Lyra finds herself walking the same path as The Fool, whether it be breaking bread or chasing him down to stop his rampage. On that path, she meets allies, a man she loves even though their chances are slim, and she hopes that all of them can find a way to peace.

Goddess of Ice, Alyja has always dreamed of the day she find her mate, but what happens when everything she had hoped for is the complete opposite? Requested by her mate's mother to aid her during illness, Alyja being the kind she-wolf she is can't reject the request. However, a lot of things start to make no sense, secrets among secrets start to pop, and alpha Luka running off every night before midnight starts to tempt her curiosity. Once she starts peeking through doors she shouldn't. What secrets will unfold? ************************************************************************************************** "I hate you!" "I hate you too!," he spat throwing the glass of liquor against the wall. Shattered glass spilled all over the wooden floor. I flinch from the sudden act I wasn't at all expecting from an alpha. Alphas are suppose to be mature, well behaved, and protective of their empire. Instead this alpha is the opposite of all these traits. "Why would the moon pair me up with someone like you? You're so mean," I mumble holding back my tears. "I suggest you go run to alpha Edon because I don't want you as my mate and never will!" With that said, alpha Luka turns his heel furiously exiting out of the room slamming the door shut leaving me frozen to the spot unable to speak as I process what he just said. Out of all the mean remarks he's thrown at me before. This one right here stabbed my fragile heart. What did I do to deserve such a mate like him? I may be the goddess of ice, but my heart isn't cold. • Book Two in the Alpha Series • (Not necessary to read the first book, Alpha Lysias. However, if interested it's available on my profile.)
