His father was forced to compete and died within the third round, then his mother passed a year later from a broken heart. Zakyrik had to take over the work his father did to pay the greedy landlord off where he would not be kicked out of his family home. He hates the competition and everything it stands for. He also detests fighting and yearns for a peaceful life away from Evanyl. This year though, as his luck would have it, he just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and was hand picked to compete. Zakyrik plans to do everything he can to escape, and if that's not an option then he's going to be forced to fight for a prize he never wanted in the first place.
