There was nothing more fundamentally fascinating to Oliver than the gray area, and from what he'd heard of it, his new workplace, Shady Cove research facility, was the very pinnacle of moral ambiguity. Even its name implied questionable antics. While some had a moral compass, Oliver Blanc had a 'meddle needle.' He aimed wherever his 'meddle needle' pointed, and followed the direction it led him in until his curiosity was satisfied. As marvelously exciting as Harvard was, the moment Shady Cove had been mentioned, his meddle needle had found a new direction. There was no higher tier to reach than Shady Cove. No higher tier... and yet no lower one. Rated mature primarily for language and mild sexual implications. (Warning: First draft, originally did not intend to post anywhere. Critique appreciated! Gentle critique! Non-soul crushing critique! But still critique!)

"The way he stiffens stirs something in me. Guilt maybe? I still might not be aware of what I've done, but I do know I don't regret doing it. So how is this man making me feel guilty with just a glance? The past is the past, but right now he's the enemy." After the devastating Carpa Malum killed 70% of the population, the world was left in disarray. Elders gone and children dead, and their remaining families left in the hands of a tyrannical government run by blood lust. A handful of the survivors, however, were found out to possess powers others could only dream to have. Castelle has little left to live for, wiling away her days in the slums of Trinity Central, but after being discovered, death isn't an option. She's taken in to fight for the government she's always loathed while a quiet rebellion starts to simmer in the streets. Thinking she knows what side she belongs to, her opinions of both are keen to change. Battling morals, friends, love, and herself, watch as Castelle fails to remember the word "justice".
