Until two and a half years ago, everyone in the American Federation and other free states of the West believed that all of Europe had been destroyed. It was common knowledge that the plague decimated the much of Africa and Europe’s population; the Manchu’s great steel beasts came in to finish off the rest. Those lucky enough to escape to the New World had done so. As to those who couldn’t flee, they were never seen or heard from again. For nigh on two centuries, no word came from the Old World. Though many Federation ships had been sent to try and figure out what happened, none had ever come back. That was, until my brother decided to try his hand at finding the truth. Mara Cavanaugh hasn't had the typical upbringing. Street urchin turned Tinker, amongst other things, she and her brother Andrew now have the might of the American Federation Airship Navy behind them. The only problem is getting back to the Old World to rescue those still living under Manchu occupation. But Mara has even more reason to go back to that land of darkness and oppression. She made a promise to a man back there, someone whose face she never saw, but who knows her better than even her twin brother. A man she owes her life and her sanity to. And Mara Cavanaugh always keeps her promises.

Dream always felt the weight of expectations on his shoulders and they've only grown worse now that he's a Star Sans. Save this AU, rescue that person, stop Nightmare over there, and make X person smile! It's a never-ending cycle of tasks and he gets asked more about why he hasn't done it sooner or defeated his brother yet than thanked for what he accomplished. He feels trapped in this position and doubts if he didn't have his positive aura that anyone would care for him. Most like him for the joy he brings or what he can give them. Nobody around him ever feels genuine without a doubt in his head. Add in the stress of protecting one Star Sans(Swap) and keeping the other(Ink) from starting trouble and you have a positive guardian ready to break under expectations. Then you have Error, the destroyer of AUs. His reputation speaks for himself and builds all the expectations he needs whenever he steps foot into another AU. He's as bad an omen as a black cat crossing your path. Others assume he is bad because of his "freakish" or glitching appearance. He has accepted these but it gets tiring when he already has the voices bossing him around or Fate reminding him that he should do more destruction. But he doesn't limit himself to destruction. He watches UnderNovela, admires the stars, and appreciates what he can. He pushes the limits of what is expected of him or disregards them completely. A trait that Dream eventually finds himself admiring in him, the known enemy of his friend. He knows that Error's feelings are genuine since he doesn't change in his presence(still an angry manchild). So when Dream gets wounded and stuck with Error on a whim, where will it take them? Will it be a mistake remaining in a hatred of enemies or will it change them both for the better? Could this admiration open Error up to corrupting Dream or will he be the influence Dream needs to against expectations and live for himself?
