Sabrina Knife Daggenheart was a regular 14 year old girl. She helps out at her local church, she donates at least one thing to the poor every single day, and she even gets straight A's. She is friends with everyone in her little class of only 11 people and she has her older sister, Dove, who's about to turn 27, to have her back. Her parents are happily married, they spoil her with anything she wants, and they even have a puppy named Chewie. 

This perfect life soon came to an end when she sees a mysterious man outside her bedroom window late at night. Soon Sabrina's running for her life with only a small bag of clothes in hand, leaving her mom, dad, and puppy behind.
