The Show

America is fascinated with the cult of celebrity. In the world of theater and film, a public face can hide almost any secret. Yet, what if we could ease inside the minds of four very successful artists as they prepared a new Broadway show for eager audiences? The world we would find there is every bit as dramatic as the project they are working on bringing to life.

The Show follows a quartet of accomplished performers as a play is conceived, produced, rehearsed and opened. Edward, a famous playwright—who has moved to England to escape a career-derailing scandal—is given another chance by a group of Czechoslovakian investors. Their only caveats are that the show must star his more famous wife, Anna, and be set in Prague. Edward’s creative drive is revved up by the challenge. Anna, who is rethinking the viability of her marriage, finds herself revved up by an attractive co-star.

Edward enlists his old friend, Nora—fresh from costuming a cancelled sitcom in Los Angeles—to help. After he convinces her to join him in New York, she finds herself indulging in old, kinky habits that may ultimately undo her blossoming romance with Margaret, the play’s second leading lady.

In the time it takes to launch the show, four lives are changed, four people are challenged, and an act of violence affects them all.
