Astrid Ellsworth is an ordinary young girl who has a very strange home. For her manor houses a cursed library, which brings all its readers a step closer to death. One day, while doing something for school, she brought Death to life, and he sought her. Sadly, she fell under death's powers. Death needed her for one purpose that only she can do: to dissolve the divide between his realm and the realm of Life. But danger follows. For if love was borne out of the dark, dark things shall be sown. For the dissolving of the divide led to the instability of both realms, which causes everybody to be both mortal and immortal at the same time. But Astrid has another love: Ivan, whose love for her was borne out of the light. Will love prove stronger than all? Or will the whole world succumb to the power of Death?
