Bao Lu wyjechał w celu wypoczęcia od miastowego zgiełku. W trakcie podróży był zmuszony wziąć postój. W daleko położonej wiosce dzieją się dziwne i naukowo niewytłumaczalne rzeczy. Bao Lu na własną rękę próbuje rozwiązać zagadkę, która spędza sen z oczu nielicznych mieszkańców wioski, a później na prośbę piekarza angażuje się w odnalezienie zaginionych osób, w tym córki piekarza. Czy niebezpieczeństwa, które napotka na swojej drodze Bao Lu zniechęcą go do dokończenia powierzonego mu zadania? Jakie zagadki skrywa tajemnicza wioska? Czy sprzymierzeńcy naprawdę nimi są?
