While she rambles I stare down at her. She can't be taller than 5 foot, a tiny petite thing. I feel like I want to protect her. Her eyes are a deep blue filled with innocence. I could get lost staring into her eyes. Her heart shines in her eyes, a good and pure heart. What am I thinking? I can't be this way. A girl like her is too good for me. I'm the devil she's a saint. "Sir, your coffee is ready." She hands me a cup. "Please don't call me sir. It makes me feel so old." I joke, and she laughs. "I'm Boone West, and what's your name?" I heard her call herself Darcy, but for some reason I need her last name. "I'm Darcy Scott. Pleased to meet you." She holds out her hand for me to shake. Shaking her hand it clicks for me. I know why she looks familiar. Her brother is my partner at work, Chase Scott. I can see the family resemblance. I'm not telling her I work with her brother. It's for her protection. It's too dangerous.
