What would you risk if you were running out of time to have the thing you wanted most?

Meka: Bioorganic life forms that can look like anything, be anything, and are bonded to one person forever. Some might be cute and fluffy, others are warriors. It is your DNA that decides.

Champion meka fighters are celebrities. Rich and famous, their battles are televised for millions of cheering fans. They even have their own action figures. A new law states only those with citizenship can own meka, making it an impossible dream for the poor living at the city's edge.

Becoming a champion fighter is thirteen year old Eli's only hope of escaping the slums. However he can't raise the money to buy his own meka before the law is passed.

A grifter named Kalex offers Eli a trade: meka of his own, if he competes in an illegal fight to the death. When his meka 'Phyre' hatches, Eli realises there is no way she can win, but Kalex has no intention of letting him or Phyre escape alive. As he flees deeper into the city, Eli knows Kalex is on his tail. And it's only a matter of time before Kalex finds them...

Wrangling teenage emotions is hard enough on good days, but what if on bad days they could manifest as giant flesh and blood monsters? Pacific Rim meets Friday Night Lights as knee-jerk rebel Sage Sawyer is forced to join her high school "tourneytub" team, the Jupiter Jackalopes. Tourneytub is the muddy opera where "humors," these emotion-fueled monsters, are pacified by jockeys in "tubs," towering robots. (Basically graceful cathedrals wrapped up in sucker punches.) Sage's new teammates are all oddballs. Genesis O'Toole, "Princess Chastity Belt" herself, is a devout Christian. When Sage joins the team though, Genesis wrestles with intense feelings for her. Talia Amphigore, star Jackalope, gets badly injured and benched. She's determined to reclaim her throne, but what if she can't? Who is she without tourneytub? Artie Amphigore, the disabled "Tub Whisperer," may be a brilliant engineer, but he struggles with crippling (haha) self-doubt. When the Jackalopes need him most, will he rise above his doubt? Meanwhile, following Talia's downfall, Peter Donkersmit suddenly finds himself responsible for the manifestation of the team's monsters, birthed from his own emotions. Easier said than done, particularly once Peter begins questioning his identity. Cover Photo courtesy of Andriyko Podilnyk on Unsplash: https://unsplash.com/@yirage. Edited. For this cyborg, power is just an upgrade away. Emmett was used to being caught between college and his engineering internship, but when he gets caught between a powerful hero and an even stronger villain, he becomes collateral damage. Instead of dying, he wakes up a cyborg. Turns out his boss wasn't just an eccentric inventor, and the old man just gave him a shining opportunity to be a hero. Except that's just the beginning, and things are about to get a lot more complicated. His boss has his own agenda. The boss's daughter has her own power armor. His roommate works for an evil corporation. And Emmett is small fry. Just a Class 1 hero. Superheroes aren't just masks-some work for corporations, or for the government and the military, and even as mercenaries in wars. Shadowy cabals pull the strings of hero and villain alike. The city of Belport might be peaceful for now, but most of the world is in turmoil. If Emmett is going to have any chance at making a difference, he needs to get stronger. A lot stronger. How much of his humanity will he hold onto and how much will he trade away? If you're a fan of Cyborg, Winter Soldier, Iron Man, or Batman Beyond, then you don't want to miss this series! What to expect: Superhero Sci-fi Progression Fantasy STUB NOTES: You can find books 1-4 on Amazon: Initialize, Execute, Flux, and Delta.
