Catherine is an unordinary teen living with her unstable mother, and although she isn't exactly stable herself, she knows one of them needs to be the adult. But with her dark past, and her shaky future, nothing seems to matter anymore. All because of her, her entire family and herself had fallen apart, leaving her with less than has ever had before.
Once she meets the new boy that has moved into the house next door, Trent, things become even more confusing for Catherine. She begins realizing that she has to decide between keeping her unfortunate past to herself, or opening up and getting help that might actually help.

When his own father attacks his mother, Caleb begins to think that the police are on to him, trying to unravel his past, thinking that they have realised what happened to cause him to try to commit suicide.
