Enthro has fallen.

No one thought it would come to this. The sun has entered its red giant state a hundred years ago and Enthro has survived. The Empire has built monumental cities throughout the planet all while spewing ash and smoke into the skies and carving out our moons and Enthro has survived... barely.

Despite everything that's happened, Enthro has stood through it all. No one guessed the final nail in the coffin would come from the Empire itself... or its son.

Two years of horror and billions of lives followed the aftermath of what could only be called the bloodiest war in the planet's history when the Emperor-to-be mysteriously renounced the title and began a revolt against his own family's Empire with the support of the entire planet at his side.

It's been six months now since the end of all that and Enthro is now a barren wasteland for the dead or soon to be. The Empire won but in the end it was useless... We've had to abandon Enthro, our home, for she has fallen into anarchy and her air has become too toxic for the lungs to inhale.

We now reside in orbit around Mother Enthro with the rest of the Empire's forces and loyalists... but not for long as the dawn is approaching and my Empire's contingency plan, our last hope, Operation: Furthest Horizon is underway.

My name is Fenro Kai'fen, a proud ranger of the Atem Empire.

Elodie's life changes at the turn of a doorknob when she is forced into joining a secret organization that claims to be protecting the Earth from aliens. But with every step she takes, she finds the organization, or the facility, as they call it, becoming more and more suspicious. When a mysterious death occurs, revealing a well-concealed secret, things quickly go downhill as humanity's future is placed on the shoulders of a single gaggle of teenagers. *** I hear a sigh from the other side of the door, "Miss. Chaucer, you have a wonderful opportunity here, are you going to take it or not?" Now, I am seriously confused, "Opportunity?" She takes advantage of my befuddled state and shoves the door open. Shit. The corners of her mouth pull up, and it's so unnatural, it takes me a moment to realize she's smiling. Major plastic surgery? Probably. Click. Did she just lock the door? She locked the door! I spring towards the house phone, dusty from years of doing absolutely nothing, so I can call the police. I don't make it. Halfway there, I trip on my own pant-leg and face plant on the floor. The woman steps over me and retrieves the phone. She looks at it as if it's a foreign object, "This won't be necessary. All I want to do is talk to you." For some reason, instead of screaming, I stay silent. She smiles and pulls out a chair from the kitchen table for me to sit on. When I don't sit, she says, "If you want to know what's going on, then sit." I think about it for a moment. She hasn't hurt me yet, and I have to admit, I am quite curious as to what's going on. So, call me stupid, but I sit down. "I am from a space organization that protects civilians from . . . outside threats." *** Beautiful cover made by @mahana258! Empire. At the end only Empire remains. No matter how many times you rebel Empire remains. No matter how many times you fight for your democratic Empire remains. Now bend for your emperorr. Welcome readers to my fantasy world. I have brought you something beyond the constraints of my imagination, and I wonder if many are ready for it; however, a good story must be told, and I am fortunate to be the one to tell it. Imagine a world where the vile nature of mankind creeps its ugly head as humanity faces its first and last major catastrophe. The world plunged into everlasting darkness, entrenched in chaos and disorder, where hope is a distant flitting memory. The story I propose to my fellow readers follows Anthony Verdun, who was only a boy when all he knew was taken from him in an instant. Like many others, on that day, those who survived lost a part of themselves, forever scarred by the family, friends, and loved ones they lost. Their lives changed forever; how could it not? I welcome you to join the world I have created, indulge in this hypothetical, and dive into this what-if. What that is, well, you would have to read to find out. Weekly chapter uploads, so stay vigilant. Here is the link to the community discord, where we can discuss the book further. "Those aliens are not my concern, the Earth and her populations are. Now, Callisto of the Scout Regiment to Salutem, as a citizen of this planet and a soldier under my command-" "I stopped being a soldier a long time ago. And those aliens have done nothing to you, you didn't even know they existed until I told you about them. I joined this mission not because I was ordered to, but because I wanted to carve my name in history. But I will not mark my namesake as a murderer of the very first species we have found that is on par with human intelligence! If my legacy is to be the protector of those you refuse to acknowledge, then so be it." The room hissed and flowed with whispers and gossip between the different board members, like a waterfall being heard through thick earmuffs. The only voice to be clearly heard was Director Striker himself. "You are rooting for a lost cause, soldier. It is the manifest destiny of us humans to reach out and touch the stars. And if the only way to touch those stars is to sacrifice a few savages, then that is what we must do." Callisto felt her anger towards a man she once admired swell in her chest and wash through her veins with a burning fire. He was proposing mass genocide simply because he wanted what belonged to them. The wheel of history turns, but nothing is ever new it seemed. "Have you read a history book in your life, Director Striker? Manifest destiny is used a mere few pages before a genocide. It's not a motivation, it's an excuse." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Fair warning: this is my very first original story so please be kind to my baby, she is a lifelong passion and a labor of love. •••COMPLETED••• •Please do not copy or post anywhere outside of these pages.

A/N: I don't own it. That's it. ~ Life Itself by Glass Animals ~ ULTRA MAGNUS X READER (SLOW) ~ "Ah, so this is the Insecticon Queen you brought to the ship. It's very nice to finally meet you . . .," "Y/D." "This is my third-in-command, Soundwave, and you've already met my second-in-command Starscream, my Chief Medical Officer, Knockout, and our current hive leader, Hardshell. Finally, this is my lieutenant for all of our science projects, Shockwave." . . . "With that done, I'm very excited to be working with you, your majesty." "As am I." "But if you ever decide to betray me, I will not hesitate to execute you. You are beneath me, no matter what you may believe." ~ You are a successful, self-proclaimed entomologist on your way to visit a couple new friends and colleagues. You had all planned on visiting a butterfly museum for the day, but it seemed not all was that way. Studying bugs was all you'd ever been interested in. Even as a little girl, whether it was butterflies or spiders, none of them had scared you. And, when you'd found these larger, alien insect-like creatures roaming around a gigantic cave, you had immediately become more curious than fearful. And on your way to the butterflies, you'd gone to check on them like you'd been doing for months. Of course, like curiosity killed the cat, it almost killed you as well, and you fell into a situation that changed your life forever. Will you find love? The Autobots? What will happen? Find out in 'Life Itself', a book less cheesy than the end of its summary. -WV-

*now available on all retailers* Amber How do you politely refuse when the only guy to star in any of your dirty fantasies has just offered to put you up for the foreseeable future and your brother's just accepted like you were in fact still thirteen and couldn't make decisions for yourself? You don't. And, you end up with a roommate who wears a very good elegant mask over the rough and tumble, bad boy core I remember far too well. Only, it's ten years later and I'm even nerdier than I used to be. It's ten years later and I couldn't look worse. It's ten years later and I can't keep one guy. It's ten years later and my brother still teases me mercilessly in front of him. It's ten years later and Kit somehow looks even better than the guy I spent my formative years crushing on. Except, there might just be a smouldering heat in Kit's eyes that suggests he's not quite as out of my league as I thought. Just maybe, this geek is about to get a whole lot of chaos. Kit When I find out about my best mate's little sister's situation, the offer is out of my mouth before I can stop it; Hawk's like a brother to me even if Amber's never looked twice at me. I could never tell if she was scared of me or hated me. But the deal is done. She's going to bring her bedraggled self upstairs to my penthouse and live with me for as long as she needs. I see the pain she hides away, I see the lack of confidence despite how smart she is, how good. If there's something I've learned, it's that confidence makes all the difference. So, it becomes my mission to help Amber find her confidence. But I find more than confidence in her and suddenly I'm seeing my best mate's little sister completely differently. Except, there might be something in the way she smiles at me that gives me hope I'm not as far out of her league as I thought. It might just be time that this chaos gets a little geek.
