*PLEASE NOTE - this is NOT a Bughead fic, while their relationship is mentioned and has existed in the timeline of this story, they are NOT the main relationship pairing or focus and the end game...who knows.*

Betty Coopers heart was shattered not once but twice at the tender age of 18 and she thought she might not ever find a love as strong again. But people aren't always what they seem and sometimes love is found in the most unsuspected places.

The Southside is full of broken men & broken families, but maybe it's not as lost and tarnished as it seems; yes, there is darkness there but maybe all it needed was a ray of light. And for FP Jones, that light shines through in blonde & emeralds.

Five years ago Jughead Jones left Riverdale and the girl he loved to make something of himself, shattering her heart as he went. Now, at 24, the successful writer returns to his home town hoping to catch the one that got away, except a lot has changed. Riverdale is not the town he knew, the people are not the same people he left behind and maybe you can't go back, maybe sometimes it's not what it seems.

As the years wore on, he became darker and cruel. He joined his Dad in the Serpents and truly loved the gang lifestyle. Archie felt hollow since Betty left. He distracted himself with football and girls and had earned himself quite a reputation. Betty and Veronica became best friends while they're mothers dated. They both embraced the New York party lifestyle. Betty changed from a sweet, quiet girl to a bit of a wild child but kept her heart of gold. That is, until Betty and Veronica move to Riverdale with their mothers. Jughead and Archie are shocked to see Betty again. One of them view her as a challenge, the other as prey.
