What if the wives, sisters, and daughters of sailors, who sent them over board into the water, were to be killed with no mercy by the mysterious shadows that lurked underneath. Shane didn't have a choice when his captain ordered the men to do this, under the cause that woman were a curse. There was no other way to survive. He was taken by force and soon did away with his wife and daughter. What he didn't know was they wouldn't die of drowning. There legs were bounded together by the shadows ripping there skin open and sewing it together. Ripping the claws into the throats, and plunging into heart with a dagger. The blood would leave them and a soul was placed into the corpses to begin a new birth. The birth of the vengeful mermaids that hid under the name of Shadows in the Water.
