Since his last misadventure, Chuck and his family are seeing brighter days. However, he can't shake off the one mystery that he is meant to solve on his own. As such, he successfully reconnects with his high school friend Alois. Things get romantic, but hostile magic casted on Alois long ago begins to manifest, devolving their love into chaos.
Just as their relationship finally improves, it all falls apart the day Chuck finds Alois dead. Chuck takes quick, dirty revenge, dismembering the girl who killed his fiancé. He flees without a trace and seeks shelter from his friend Bane-a lottery winner with a big, new house.
Chuck is introduced to the group who runs Bane's entire life: a criminal organization run by a coven named Our Holy Masculine of Thassatra. The guys in charge have surveilled the duo for years. Chuck and Bane are putty in the coven's hands. Once they realize, though, it's too late. The two have been inadvertently aiding in the coven's nefarious plans the whole time.
On a simpler note, Chuck becomes Bane's new house manager. So far so good, as Chuck's escape from the past begins heading in a positive direction.
However, while Chuck is busy flying under the radar in the Maple City suburbs, the girl he butchered back in Aspen emerges from a nearby crowd. Was it just Chuck's imagination, or is she somehow back with her own vengeance?

Turns out that refusing the bond was not as easy as saying 'No thank you.' Yul had his own battles to fight.
